  1. Sorry for the late answer. I put this project on hold for a while. But I settled with E6000 glue. It's recommended for ABS plastic and leather as well. Also, thing to consider that it needs time to cure so I can play with the leather and reposition it if I need to. Something that I can't do with contact glue. I have already prepared the guitar case and probably I will do the leather molding after new year. There is so much I have to do focus on. I don't have time to do it earlier.
  2. The surface of my guitar case is quite rough already. Do you think it still needs to be roughed? I am not sure, I am just asking. I have some steel wool somewhere. I can go over it just in case.
  3. I am open for any glue. At the moment, I am still waiting for my leather to be delivered. Hopefully tomorrow. In the meantime I wanted to gather info about the glue I need to use. Do you have any recommended brand or a specific glue I should try?
  4. That's a good option I will keep in mind
  5. The title says it all. I want to cover my guitar case (ABS plastic) with molded leather. The surface is textured not smooth. The thing I am worried for is ABS plastic is not very resistant to certain chemicals and a strong solvent based glue might damage the case. Mind you I am a complete newbie to leather craft. Any recommendation?
  6. Thank you guys for your input. I really appreciate it. I forgot to add. "They sent me the wrong size so I am not that worried for this" - because they will replace it with the correct one. Where I bought it doesn't state what grade it is. https://majestichides.co.uk/37-sqft--02-natural-tan-old-harness-pit-tanned-double-back-1143-p.asp But they seem legit and were very responsive when I have informed them about the incorrect size they sent. So I will keep an eye on the next delivery. Price-wise, I think it is very decent. What do you think?
  7. Hi guys, I am complete newbie. I have just ordered my first veg tan leather for my very first project. And I was a bit suprised to see some scratches on some areas. But since I am new I don't know if it is normal. Should it be treated in a certain way or would it go away after dying? They sent me the wrong size so I am not that worried for this. But it would be great if someone could tell me what is the limit when scratches are still acceptable. Thanks in advance P.S. couldn't insert a picture because it is too large.
