About Me

I've lived my whole life in the (now) almost 200 year old farmhouse occupied by immediate family (Dad's farm) during the nearly whole of the 20th century.

The setting was crop farming and a horse stable for all of my formative years. I wish that my obvious interest in horses and associated would have been promoted beyond being readily available labor for the equine boarding operation.

Harness making/saddlery repair would have been a proper avenue for the burgeoning mechanical aptitude I ended up pursuing during my years in the work force. It would have been a welcome income source during my 'teens & beyond, especially since It was determined that following career as a farrier (horse shoeing/blacksmith) or veterinary work wouldn't be in my stars as the chosen profession.

Now I  involve myself in leather work as a hobby to round out my skill set with a low impact pass time.

Due to severe limitations imposed by disability as a result of an industrial accident some 20 years ago I can only endure the use of my hands & upper body for quite short periods before chronic pain takes charge and I can just as often as not be able to even clean up and stow my works -post-episode.

My efforts around the ranch, and filling out this commentary has ended my abilities for -this- short day.

Bye now,

Charles
