I opened my first leather shop in 1968 with my wife in Winchester, MA called Leather Loft. We relocated to Rockport, MA in 1969 and opened our next shop called Boot and Sandal Shop. Eventually we morphed into Rockport Leather Design. I worked as a consultant for AC Lawrence and could get all the leather I wanted for free! Can't seem to find anyone willing to do that today, if anyone has a source for free leather please email and let me know (jk). Our specialty was sandals, moccasins, belts, small leather goods, jackets, and handbags. We have wholesaled handmade leather belts across the country, and had ads in catalogs such as Horchow and magazines such as Yankee Magazine. We demonstrated leather craft at fairs such as the Topsfield Fair. While the retail shop eventually closed, we are still making leather goods with a new online presence on Etsy called Cape Ann Leather Design.
