Thanks Doc and Fredk. Great ideas I will definitely use on the next one.

Let me know where you think I can improve. This one is mine, but I’ve had a few people want to know if I can make them one. Just feel like it’s not quite where I want it.
-
Thanks Rocky. I will give that a go.

First project sewn on the Boss. Back side. I am going to really like this machine. Took less than 5 minutes to stitch this up.
-
Need a practice project so I came up with my “Fat Boy” sheath. Top of knife is below the top of the belt so it doesn’t poke me in the Dunlap when I sit down. First time using the small Carlos border stamp as well. I definitely need more practice.

It’s not an issue any more! Thanks kkg. This thing fit like a glove and works like a champ!
-
Nice mods! I am interested in No. 10, the stitch length guide. It is an issue with my Sew Strong, another Sailrite clone.
-
I bought it from Tandy already dyed. I think it was called Petrel. I thought it would look good with the black.
-
Thanks Suzelle. I get a little better each time I use the powered machine. I hope the same holds for the Boss.
-
Yes Sir. Thank you. The customer was very pleased.

My first inlay sheath. Exotic is ostrich leg glued to 4-6 oz. Front and back is 8-10 oz and there is a piece of 4-6oz glued to the back as a welt. The belt loops are about 28 oz of leather.

Top side

Tinkered with the top tension for about 5 minutes and the crooked stitch line has no knot showing! 2 pieces of 8-10 oz. I think I’m going to really like this machine.
-
Finally got the new machine set up! Got stitch length set, but bottom stitches were not pulling up

Mostly price. I went back and forth between the Tandy Pro Outlaw and the Tippmann Boss Deluxe Package. The Boss was $500 cheaper delivered. Tandy, being in Texas had to charge sales tax. My largest project would be a pancake gun holster and I think the Boss will handle that just fine.
-
Well, I just bought a new Tippmann Boss! I think it will be perfect for my needs. I'll post pics when I get it setup.
-
Me too! I enjoy working with my hands. I’m going to get the top back on that table and mount a Tippmann Boss or Cowboy Outlaw on it.
-
Yes it is, but I’m only in for $750. I’m thinking about buying the box speed reducer, but I’ll play around with it for a bit to improve my skills.
-
Well, we learned about stitch length and presser foot tension on this little project. Learning something with every project!
-
I think my next purchase will be either a Tippmann Boss or a Cowboy Outlaw for knife sheaths and holsters. I will use this to sew up my wallets.
-
It’s waaay better, but I should have gone 8 inch on the machine. It will work for now, but I definitely see a larger pulley sometime in my future.
-
Got the pulleys installed and man what a difference! It doesn’t run away from me. I shot a video, but it’s too big to upload.
-
I thought about a 10 inch for the machine, but the 45mm and 6 inch gives me about a 3.37:1 reduction. Everything I’ve read says 3.4:1 is the number I’m looking for.
-
Bought a table with servo motor, better results. Still wants to run away from me. Ordered a 45 mm pulley for the motor and a 6 inch pulley for the machine. Hopes this gives me the slow speed control I’m looking for. I’ll try and post pics when I’m done.

Bought a cheap walking foot machine, built a table and tried to sew a wallet. Didn’t work so good.
