Hi, Nilzar! I'm also a newbie on here from Upstate NY. Just curious, where is your "local" leather shop? I don't have one near me, but would be willing to drive a little if it means I get to shop in person.

Hi! I've been looking at online courses, and most of the ones I have seen are by makers who hand stitch their leather goods. I understand that the up front prep stuff is basically the same, and that's something I definitely could benefit from learning from a master. But I'd like to be able to see it finished on a machine. I'm sure there are specific techniques, methods, tips and tricks for machine sewing leather goods, but I just can't seem to find one teacher that does just that. Does anyone have any recommendations? PS...I'm in the US.

Hi! I am from the US and was wondering what some of the preferred brands of bonded nylon thread people use? I am making primarily journals, wallets, bags and the like. I have just set up my Techsew 4800, and it came with their own brand of thread, which seems to work well so far. Unfortunately, the color selection isn't the greatest. I'd really love to find a supplier that sells #69 or #92 in a wide array of colors.
