These have one hole on the backside of the blade and feed wheel. A proper spanner could be made but I’m betting the pin would be to small to break an old rusted one off without breaking itself. This method worked and didn’t take much time at all. I was working on it right after I posted the original message. I worked one side till it raised a burr and then worked the other the same way, then progressed up the grits to 5k and stropped. I use my old razor stones for my leather tools since I bought all new stones for my straights.

I wish I had thought to take pictures of what I started with. I recently took possession of and old American 3in1 the round cutter blade wash sharp except two knicks that needed to be removed. To begin this I removed the top feed wheel using a punch and dead blow hammer. Not having a lathe or any way to spin it true other than on the machine itself I used a coarse file held against the frame with my left hand and the handle of the file braced by the bench. I maintained the original edge bevel. I used a progressively finer files as the knicks were close to being removed. I worked the wire edge off going back and forth holding the file flat against the outside face and the edge I had just made I know the outer face remained square because the black on the face was un-damaged. I then worked a few progressively finer stones and finally stropped both sides. I now have a functional 3in1 with no heat damage to the wheel and a true and keen edge. I do however still need to do some work to the skiving blade. I despise using grinders on sharpen edged tools unless I am forced to so I was happy I did not have to resort to that. I had nothing to loose on this blade due to the damage that was already there. If you take your time and clean to file and the cutter and end of the bottom frame of shavings regularly it is easy to see light to guide where to hold your files and stones.

latest creation. I’m teaching myself to draw floral (no I did not draw this pattern. It is from Don Gonzales) My original iPad was too old to run procreate. I decided to upgrade it to a more current version that procreate supports and it needed a cover to go with it. the front is attached with snaps so it can be fully removed to have just the iPad on the back so the front is not in the way while drawing. I don’t know why the front kept wandering while stitching it it was a personal project anyways so not too much matter in the end. W&C chestnut 10-12 skirting leather front and back with sepicci veg tan liners and closure straps. background and border are Fiebing walnut pro dye. With bagkote finish.

I have a custom I’m waiting for from them, the lockdown after someone escaped back in September slowed that order down quite a bit. This one is a 4102 that I found pre owned with no keepers or tips. I don’t personally use those parts most of the time anyways so it worked out well for me.

So I found this buckle and have a friend wanting a couple of ranger belts made. He wants a gun belt and a regular pants belt. I messed up the pattern in a couple of spots. There is certainly plenty of room for improvement. Horween soft rolled horse butt main body, Sepici cognac bridle with the pasted back sanded off liner. Texas prison made buckle I sourced second hand. background is walnut pro dye and the rest is saddle tan pro dye. Bag kote finish with kiwi cream buffed on top. Carving pattern by Don Gonzales. The bag in the middle snaps into the big bag and can be used on its own or not used at all. I made a similar clutch for my youngest daughter, when I showed my wife what I was making for my daughter she enthusiastically replied she liked it too. The green in all of the bags and my daughters clutch is Horween bison. All the brown on the bag is just Sepichi veg tan. The interior of my wife’s clutch is walnut buttero. I didn’t care for some of the fuzziness on the back of the bison but apparently it is inherent to that particular leather… This set is a Mother’s Day gift for her this coming weekend. She knows about the bag but not the clutch. My toiletry bag is made of the same bison with tan horween CXL horsebutt trim. I have been learning a lot lately working on many different projects.

The inlaid straps were quite interesting to make since I’ve never tried it before. I’ve never lined a project. I have done rolled handles but always out of heavier material that would hold its own shape. I adapted a pattern that was meant for hand sewing to mostly machine sewing. (I detest pre punched holes).

Well it now has a home made speed reducer and I drilled and tapped the back for a KH sewing edge guide. These two modifications should make it quite a bit more controllable.

@shelr1, that is a national hardware #500-30000 garage door step plate. They unfortunately are out of production now. I’m working on a similar setup but went with a much larger large pulley @10” HA HA by my math I should be able to run 1 stitch every 2 seconds if I so choose.
