  1. Thanks Bob, I have to get some tread and needles and tthen try to get it threaded right. I can then see what is going on. The tread that was on the machine looks to be like upolstery thread (Pretty thin). Don't want to change to much until I have what I am actually going to use. May have some more questions after that.
  2. I think part of my problem is the thread. What do you guys think is better Bonded polyester or Bonded Nylon for sheaths and gunbelts? I am thinking of going with #138 with a 140/22 or 180/24 needle.
  3. Thanks Kgg, I will try to rethread and see how things go. Right now I am only try to sew a single layer of buckskin just to see if I can get the to happen. So only 2-3 oz. Pinto
  4. I just reieved a brother LS2-B837 and I am trying to get it up and running. I have 2 questions. ! am I threading the machine properly? I am asking because the thread seems to be binding in the first thread tensioner, even with it screwed all the way out. I did polish the wheels and they are nice and shiney . Here are the pics of how I think it should be threaded. Question 2 is I want to use 138 bonded nylon with a 135X17 22/140 needle. Does that make sense? I am making knife sheaths, holster and gunbelts. Thanks for any advice. Pinto
  5. Thanks Bob, Let me know what you find out. Pinto
  6. Hi Guys, Does anyone have a Oscillating Rock Shaft for my 15-91 they may be willing to sell? It is the one with the fork on it. I believe the part number is 4304 I checked withToledo Inndustrial but it appears they do not have one. Is there anywhere you may suggest I can find one? Thanks in advance. Pinto
  7. thanks guys. I make a variety of products. I have a machine for the thinner stuff like wallets , passport covers and such. I also do gun belts (2 layers of 7 oz) and holsters (3 layer of 6-7oz with the welt) which I have hand sewn until now. Of course I would like to look for something in the lower price range since I am just strating to thick of machine sewn products. I would like to see if this is going to do well before I spend big $$ I hope that is enough information
  8. I am able to get a Singer 31-19 industrial Walking Foot Sewing Machine and was wondwering if this is a good enough machine for making gunbelts and holster? Anyone have anyider how thick of veg-tan leather you can sew with this machine. I can also get a Consew 255 RB single walking foot but it is more expensive. Which would be the better machine for what I want to do. Thanks in advance for your replys.
