  1. Thank you so much for the pictures. It makes it stand out much clearer in my mind. I glued a belt up today. I stopped prior to the snaps. It was a precut belt. I will start on sewing it by hand tomorrow. Thanks for all the replies.
  2. Thanks for all of the replies. Today I am working on a black single layer belt for practice. Each one I am learning something new.
  3. Many thanks for the replies. That helps clear things up in my mind. I am going to make 3 gun belts. All three belts will have a outer layer of 9/10 oz. The first one will be layered with 9/10 oz, second with 6/7 oz and the last will be layered with 4/5 oz. I am doing this to get a feel for what thickness works, etc.
  4. I have searched, watched videos, and spoke to a couple of different people. I am still unclear at what point the bottom liner of leather stops. Does it run all the way from end to end? Does it run from the tip to where the end is folder under and sewn? Many guidance would be appreciated thanks Bryan
  5. Hello! Bryan from Denham Springs, LA. In the past I have made several hand stitched leather knife sheaths for knives that I have made. Just recently, I became interested in holster making. I jumped in with both feet. I just ordered a Cobra Class 4-S. I look forward to learning and spending time enjoying this craft. Pray the odds and ends I make will pay for the machine. I look forward to meeting local people who are interested in this craft. Thanks, Bryan
  6. Hey! I live in Baton Rouge. If it is the shop off of Sherwood Forest and Coursey Blvd., I would be glad to go over there and talk to them about taking some pictures. Just let me know if that is it. Take care, Bryan
  7. Mike, Thanks for the warm welcome. I will definately get more in depth on the forum. I look forward to studying the website. Thanks for the notice on where to look for answers. Take care, Bryan
  8. Hey! I am fairly new to leatherworking. I got into it after I started making sheaths for a few of the knives I make. My interest has grown over the last two years. I am hoping that there is someone or a group out there that I can get with from time to time and work on stuff with. I have the capability to make basic sheaths for my blades. I would like to expand my knowledge into more intricate work on them. If there is anyone out there who is willing to share there knowledge... It would be appreciated. In return, I have the capability of some basic blacksmithing, nice beltsander, stones, and other items of metal working. Thanks for letting me ramble. Any information would be appreicated. Thanks Bryan
