  1. Have loaded JUKI LU-563 with "VT-295E" on both TopStitch and bobbin Hook Assembly B1830-563-BA0 Issues: This is VERY old thread (date on spool) Adjusted Hook Assembly by lowering bobbin gate...slightly (enough to clear the larger thread) Used #24 Needle The LU-563 was not happy. Was able to run "Servo with speed reducer...500 rpm" The end result was ability to run..However...(1)Tension setting was difficult. (2) Left-Twist thread "knotted" significantly making it difficult for "uptake lever" to fully retrieve the loop. (3) Bobbin didn't seem to care...tension was also adjusted. (4) Occasionally there was time where needle "skinned" a thread segment but did not break. (5) Thread on Tension Assembly was "twisting" sporadically and wanted to catch on the Uptake Spring. Visually..with Lu-563 lifted..Cranking by Hand..The TopStitchThread started off easily...but after a few revolution around the bobbin it began to "twist" unpredictably...like a figure-8 making it very difficult for thread to slide off hook and uptake lever to retrieve "the little "twist" past the plate with the bobbin thread. I spent SEVERAL days playing with this.....
  2. It's "consistent"...adds an additional stitch. Raises needle to UP when pedal is back-tapped. I'm still learning/tweaking setup.
  3. Toledo Industrial Sewing Machines: Speed Reducer (4:1) GoldStar Tool : 750w Servo MasterPro Belt: 7330 (15330) 3/8" x 33-3/4" OC Speed is VERY controllable at stitch...added Needle Synchronizer also.
  4. I suspect my issue is with "using the wrong needle"....135 x17...rather than 135 x16...The option is being mailed this week.
  5. I was "gifted" with a JUKI LU-563 (14 years sitting in a barn)...I've SUBSCRIBED to everyone with even remotely "135x17" systems...dumped the "clutch"...750W Servo and Speed Reducer (Toledo Hardware) added. Mechanically...I can fix most things...so far so good. Lot of "Industrial Thread" (for free)....and a can of Sewing Machine Oil since the Juki was "locked up". Been lurking on Leatherworker...and found very helpful information/comments and discussions as a GUEST and eventually a member....From some VERY Technical people!
  6. "Straight" stitch working with same tension setting as "Reverse". Straight stitch appears normal with topstitch, and bobbin side appears normal. When I perform "Reverse" stitch the (large) thread "twists" into a tiny knot with the bobbin thread making a little "nub" at each reverse stitch. Both threads are "left hand". Juki LU-563 Heavy Leather (0.175) #24 Needle TopStitch Thread (135?) Bobbin (75?) I'm definitely "outta-my-league" here...SmartPhone pics say "Max size exceeded"?
