can anybody please help me find this "sole trimmer"?
TakashiOkada replied to TakashiOkada's topic in Leather Machinery
@Tastech I was having a hard time finding a close up picture of a guard, this is really helpful. I think this will be enough to have someone make me something similar. I can't buy from australia so I'm gonna check the uk source. thank you! -

so, blades for landis, this could definitely help me find it. wow I had no idea this machine should have a guard. I'll check tomorrow if It has some slot or hole to screw one onto the rod or some other way to install it. let's hope I can use a landis guard as well. thanks! -

3 years ago, I took this machine to a technician and he did a horrendous job, he even broke the revolving bush handle somehow. he also had the audacity to use something similar to J-B Weld Plastic Bonder to replicate the tip of the needle bar. needless to say it completely shattered the first time I used the machine. he also used a hose clamp as a stitch regulator. at the time I just gave up on this machine because I already had a singer 29k and didn't need another one, now I do need it but can't find parts for it anywhere. can anybody please help me? AFAIK I need a bobbin case, stitch regulator, revolving bush handle and that tip of the needle bar where you put the needle in, I have no idea how it's called.

I don't know the correct name of this part in english but I need to replace it and I can't find anybody that sells it in my country so I'm looking to buy it online from the US, europe or china. can't google it because I don't know how it's called. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380810963466 This is what I've found but I need number 5, not 7.

will juki 1341 accessories fit this Typical tw3-343?
TakashiOkada replied to TakashiOkada's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
@friquant I oiled and sprayed wd40 over anything that moves when I press the pedal but nothing changed @kgg I don't exactly know what a "binding" knee lift shaft is but I assume it means the knee lift shaft moves when I press the pedal, which it does. I gave up and switched to the knee lift and now it's as smooth as silk, problem solved lol. Thanks guys. -
will juki 1341 accessories fit this Typical tw3-343?

Oops you're right. This is the link. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1628261312/folded-edge-cylinder-arm-table-read-the It's for juki 341/1341 and clones but this is not exactly a Clone so I'll have to ask the manufacturer. Thanks Thank you @friquant . Apparently the problem is not the chain rubbing, I held onto the chain to prevent it from rubbing and there was no difference. Something in the mechanism feels clunky, I'm going to try the pedal and presser foot tension suggestions. Diameter of the bobbin is 25mm. -
Hello. my machine just arrived! I promised I'd post some pics so here they are. thank you so much for your advice! it ended up costing 2,016 US$ Sadly the smaller table you guys recommended to me has to be imported and it's gonna be prohibitively expensive so I'll pass on that one. This is a typical TW3-343. I was planning on buying a typical 341 which is a direct clone of the Juki 341 but the seller told me there's a new version, that's why I went with this. It resembles a Juki 1341 but the bobbin winder is in a different place and it has full self lubrication, not only at the bottom like the 1341 AFAIK. it came with a 550w brushless servo motor. if you guys know which clone this machine is from I'd love to know. I have also want to know if this flat bed attachment will fit. the bobbins are HUGE, bigger than bobbins on my Seiko tf-5/6 and post bed. It also came with a binding attachment which I appreciate. I don't know if this is normal but the pedal that lifts the presser foot is not smooth at all and I have to press significantly harder than the motor pedal, it's uncomfortable to use with an office chair with casters, is this normal? I'm asking because I've never used anything other than a knee lift so I don't know if this is something I have to get used to or if it's something that needs to be addressed. I have a small speed reducer I bought from aliexpress couple years ago that I could Install but I'm hesitating since I've read some threads saying it doesn't work well with needle positioners.

Typical gc2605 conversion to non-binding machine
TakashiOkada replied to TakashiOkada's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
okay I'm watching a video from the same guy and the 2603's feed dog has a circular motion, 2605's feed dog only goes forward and backwards. so there's a huge difference after all. I think it's some sort of clone of the 246? I'm strongly considering asking my local dealer to get me this 2603 instead of the 341. I bet it's cheaper, too. -
Typical gc2605 conversion to non-binding machine
TakashiOkada replied to TakashiOkada's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
1 - oh so the feed dog and throat plate DO work for that machine, interesting. I think he said they are parts for a pfaff machine? 2 - that's smart. I could design and make a cover plate with acrylic and a laser cutter. 3 - agree TBH today I learned something new, thanks. the translation was a bit rough but it was better than nothing -
hello, it's me again. I was about to buy the typical 341 you guys recommended to me for 1900$ but then I found an interesting triple feed binding machine in the used market for 400$. it's a typical gc2605. this is the picture of the actual machine for sale, it even has the half table and all! there's a similar model, it's the typical gc2603, which has normal throat plate more suitable for general leather sewing. apparently it's the same machine but with different plates, picture below. the end of both arms seem a bit different. these are the plates for each model. screw holes don't seem to match more pics from the internet for reference according to this picture, both 2603 and 2605 are essentially the same machine? this is a video of a guy with a gc2605 speaking russian (i think) and he's saying something while holding the plate I want to put in the gc2605. can anyone who speaks russian tell me what he's saying?

TakashiOkada replied to TakashiOkada's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
@Cumberland Highpower yup that 335 is set up for binding. yeah you guys are right, I shouldn't gamble with my hard earned money, I'll go the safe route and buy the 341 locally. I'll post some pictures over here when It arrives in -several months- ! thank you! -
help choosing first leather sewing machine
TakashiOkada replied to TakashiOkada's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
That's true. Another option would be to get my local dealer to import a typical tw3-341 for me. They quoted me a price of 1.916$ for that machine, I can also just buy a typical tw3-335 for around 1.600$ which they already have in store, those prices include table and servo motor Typical doesn't seem to make the model 246 so I won't be able to get it through my dealer. They only sell typical, singer, juki and Jin. -
help choosing first leather sewing machine

The particular machine I linked has the tariff cost from china to the US included with shipping for some reason. I'm shipping the machine to Miami and then it's rerouted to Paraguay, sending it directly to Paraguay is not feasible because Paraguayan customs, as all other government institutions in general, are very inefficient and corrupt here and will definitely steal my machine. Freight forwarding companies somehow manage to get through customs without getting their packages stolen, for this reason most people just import through them instead of shipping directly to Paraguay without any intermediary. all of them have warehouses in Miami and some also operate in china and Spain. my freight forwarder handles literally everything and consolidates all the costs into one easy to calculate rate: weight. they also provide insurance on my package for up to 1.000$ in case anything happens to it during transport from their warehouse in Miami all the way to my house it's very convenient, it allows me to buy many leather work related tools and supplies that are just not available in here. most of my tools come from Tandy, weaver, buckle guy, amazon us, aliexpress and others. BTW y'all don't realize how lucky you are. there's literally everything in your online stores and can import heavy stuff for so cheap, the cost of importing that model 246 from Miami to my country (520$) is almost as much as what the machine itself cost including shipping to miami and US tariffs (604$). if it included a table and a motor the freight forwarder fee would be too high, luckily it doesn't, it's just the head Regarding quality... I've seen a few videos of people reviewing honkon branded machines and they seem happy with them, but I agree, it's going to be a gamble.
