  1. Hi guys! My name is Shane and I am a leather crafter as well as I also laser engrave solid brass stainless steel and copper hardware for leather craft and woodworking. I started doing this for my own personal pieces and many other makers reached out that were also interested. So long story short, now I create and ship short volume runs of various hardware and leather stamps for leather craft like line snaps, sigma (glove) snaps, key rings, Double cap rivets, custom belt buckles and so on for many makers all over the world. I am based out of Toronto Canada. If anyone is interested please feel free to reach out with any questions that you may have. And also here's my website along with my Instagram if anyone is interested. www.bowthemaker.com My Instagram Thanks again, Shane.
  2. 1. As for a machine i would suggest a flatbed with a walking foot like a old Juki 562 or 563. They are fairly common to find used in places like Facebook marketplace and craigslist. 2. I would suggest using a nylon bonded thread like Vimeyo. Personally I use number five for both hand stitch and machine stitching. 3. And by tightened, I'm assuming you're meaning a slight pucker when the thread is pull tight… That could be done by adjusting the thread tension of the machine… One question you should think of is how would you care for the garment? As washing leather is never really a good solution… I guess there's always dry cleaning but I'm not sure how that works with textiles and a hide. All that said, good luck
  3. I have gone down this rabbit hole and wasted a lot of money on sub par stitching ponys, 4 to be exact. but thankfully I ended up with (in my opinion) the best option for me. The Maxita Stitching Pony. Hands down the best stitching pony that meets all my need. The 2 biggest things with this one is the adjustable height and nothing that snags and catches the thread.... That said not the cheapest but if I started with the Maxita I would have saved money LOL or possibly bought two Maxita's LOL. I'm not sure who sells them in USA but I purchased mine from Junlin Leather Good luck on your hunt!
