  1. Do you think such an old machine will give me a lot of problems? The mechanic said he will guarantee it for a year.
  2. I think he will add the thread pin, but I don't think he mentioned the thread felt. I might need to replace that myself. Can you expand on how to check the rubber timing belt and the side slop please? He is asking $2000 USD with delivery. I thought that $ 2000 was kind of expensive for an older machine. Do you think I should try and negotiate it down?
  3. Hi everyone, Happy new year! I went to the mechanic to test the phaff 335 and he happened to also have this juki 341. He will put it on a space saving table with a new servo motor, clean it up a bit and change out the plate. I believe the plate is set up for binding now. I tested it and it seems to work well. I would love any opinions on how the machine looks to you, if there is anything I should be aware of or look for before making the purchase. Thank you all so much again. I really appreciate having you all here to help me make a more informed decision.
  4. The dealer is claiming that the machine isn't set up for binding. Can you please remind me how to verify that? I check the motion of the feed dogs?
  5. He is selling it with a table and servo motor. He is local and delivery would be included. I'm just not looking for a binding machine He is asking $1400 and is located in NY.
  6. Some, but I am not looking for a binding machine. Thank you for letting me know. I think you are right! It's H3 not 113. Do you know what the H3 means?
  7. Is the 335 I have in the picture a binding machine?
  8. Hi, I was offered to buy this machine used from a mechanic. I know that there a lot of people of the forum that have a lot of experience with them. I would love any opinions on the condition, what to look for, information on the sub class. It looks like it-s a 335 G 113. Here are the pictures I was sent. Any opinions/information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
  9. Hi, I was wondering if anyone has used the Juki ls2342? Does the torque motor make a difference? does it use different needles than the 1341? Would there be a difference in performance? Thank you!!!
  10. Hi, I was wondering if anyone has used the Seiko BSC 8B? Any thoughts? it looks like its a small cylinder that has elliptical feed. How would it compare to the Juki Ls1341 or DSC 245/6? Thank you
  11. Hi, I was wondering if anyone can recommend a place to buy industrial machines in the NYC area? Preferably a cylinder machine.since I prefer to buy locally since I need the support if anything goes wrong. Thanks!
  12. Thank you so much for your help! Your answers were really helpful. I'm sewing mostly medium weight leathers that are around 1/8" thick. Does anyone know what the differences between the Juki1341 and Juki 1342? The price difference seems substantial. Thank you!
  13. Hi, I am new to leatherwork and am looking to purchase a cylinder machine for making handbags. The two main machines I am considering areI the Juki DSC 245 and Juki LS 1341. Does anyone know the difference between them other than the size of the cylinder arm? Is the rectangular feed on the 1341 an advantage? I am also considering the Consew 277R. Any thoughts on this machine? I am open to suggestions on other machines. At the moment I am working mostly with medium weight leathers. I live in NY but am having a hard time finding any dealer that will let me test any of the machines. Thank you for your advice!
