Taurus Pt145R Millenium Pro
ebarber replied to ebarber's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Hey thanks Madmax, Yea I dont know how many I will be doing, 1 order for now. They seem to be a pretty popular model. SHould have snagged one when I had the chance. It was my understanding that they would keep them on hand....but I guess I was wrong. -
Does anyone have a Taurus PT145R Millenium Pro dummy I could borrow/rent, buy or whatever? I would only need it for a couple of days. Duncans is out of stock and has been for a while and I have an order coming up I need it for. Also dont see one on my Blueguns list either. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I have a large list of dummys myself (and always growing) and would be willing to swap back and forth if somone could help me out on this. Thanks Eric

Belt reinforcement
ebarber replied to ebarber's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Hmmm that looks interesting I wonder how thick it is. I may have to call them Monday. Ive been browsing www.professionalplastics.com but there are so many different kinds. I dont know for sure what will work and what wont. -
I want to start reinforcing my gun belts. Does anyone have a good source for plastic reinforcements for gun belts? I have a piece out of an old Acker that I tore apart but I have no clue as to what kind it is. Polycarbonate maybe? Thanks Eric

Making 3D type duty holsters
ebarber replied to ebarber's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Thanks Tony, Yes I was referring to the accessories mainly the mace type holder. I couldn't figure out how they stitched it in a 3d type piece like that. Ill check out your work on that other site. Thanks Eric -
Making 3D type duty holsters

Hi, I have a question on duty type holsters. Ive attached some pics of what I am talking about. I am curious if a guy could make stuff like this with a traditional lock stitch machine. I cant get my head around these designs? Am I missing something? Thanks Eric -

Mostly hand held. But a few mounted. I dont think Ill get into the mounted stuff unless I get a bunch of requests for the same one. I was mostly looking for the hand held stuff. Thank you Lobo I was wondering about just using dowels like you are. Thanks so much. Eric -
Im starting to get alot of requests for Tac light holsters. Anyone know of a supplier for dummys or any other Ideas besides buying one of each...not totally against that but unfortunately the ol pocket book wont allow for that option Thanks Eric

I am putting together a list of popular moulds to order. So I dont double order models are there some guns as in Glocks and or maybe others that would be exactly the same size and shape as another model for holster moulding? Short of going to a gun store with a pad and paper im not sure where to look. Thanks Eric

Thanks Boomstick ill try and not make that a habit! Hahaha. Great advice thanks for everything. I have some clips coming from Ohio travel bag thanks. Great advice thanks! Here are a few more. I had a little time today. I think I might try and sell these. Do you think they are sale worthy yet? I have a makers stamp coming but I couldnt wait on it...gotta sew some leather. I....I...just cant.....stop! Ha! 1 pic with flash the other two without. Next step is to get some molds. I have already talked to rings and Im going to get set up as a dealer. My poor Glock 30 is getting tired of me messing with her I think! -

Ha! to much for sure. I paid 4850.00 +tx. For that the darn thing should sew by itself! But it dosent. Its rough trying to learn how to sew I think the last time I sewed anything was in home ec 20+ years ago. Thanks for the compliments. Thanks Rusty and I agree, all of the bottoms are open on these. I know from the pics it might not look like it but they are. I think that is the way to go too esp for conceiled carry. -
Hello, My name is Eric. Im new to holster making and im hoping to start a holster business part time for now but full time eventually. I own a construction company and as you know home building is kind of in the tank. I myself am pretty busy doing remodels and alot of repair now but Ive kind of lost my love for it. Being a woodbutcher and working with my hands alot I thought id give this a try. Im looking at switching gears and maybe trying to make a full time business out of it eventually if not I think it would at least keep me from bending nails during the winter months. It gets awful cold here in Ohio during the winter. I made the decision to give it a shot and bought my Adler 205, a couple double shoulders, and some misc stuff to get me started last Friday. I talked to broomstickholster via pm about a few things and mentioned that I would post some pics when I got a little better. He talked me into showing some pics now. The first 3 holsters in this first pic were absolutely awful but im learning. They are numbered in the order I made them. This revolver holster was my 4th and I wore it all day today to try it out. Im pretty happy with it except for my forming. This last one, an IWB I made for my Glock 30sf but I stitched it to tight. My Dad has a Walther just like mine and mentioned that when I was practicing he would like me to make him one for his so I formed it to fit my PPK. I also learned a few things on this one, like I need to run a reinforcement and run the leather up further to protect the gun from the belt. Heres a pic of my new machine! And my messy workbench! I know I have a ways to go but if you could give maybe some pointers I would appreciate it! Thanks Eric

Hello, Ive just joined leatherworker.net recently and have been doing alot of reading before I post on the forum. I am very new to leatherworking and am interested in holster making. Concealed carry types. I saw one of BROOMSTICKholsters holsters (beautiful work by the way) and he uses the same clips I have been looking for for the inside the waist band holsters. If you wouldnt mind sharing...or anyone who might know, where might I get those? Also I am working with Vernon at Weaver leather, I am thankfully fortunate enough to live about an hour or so from them. I am looking at an Adler 205-400. He feels like the machine is overkill for sewing holsters but it is what I need because of the large thread (346) I will be using. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Eric
