Hi all - I found an Adler 67-372T at the Goodwill Bins and an Adler 67-GA-373 all rusted out in a shipping container. I'm trying to figure out which is the better machine to restore since I think I have to salvage parts from one for the other, but that's really the question. The manuals cover both the 67 and 167 so I'm not 100% sure if one of these is actually missing parts or not. Trying to fix up these machines is the hobby! I intend to sell these machines once they're in good working order. I don't actually sew myself. I just love machines. Here's what I have: 67-372T - this one has already been scrubbed so looks better than the second. Front (Is it missing the bars at the top)? The tension unit has a few broken pieces, but I know I can find new ones to purchase. This picture shows what I think is a missing collar behind the stitch length locking lever (I can see this in the diagrams of the manuals, so this one just may be missing, but I'm not 100% sure). The other 67 has this part so I was considering poaching it from that one, or I can find one online for ~$USD 35 This is the back of the machine - it looks like it has the mounts for a top presser bar, but I really don't know if it is required This is the unit model 67-GA-373 You can see a fair bit of rust. The feed dog is missing since I stole a screw for the other machine, but I have it. This thread guide is broken and seemingly stuck in the machine Thanks for your advice! I can probably get my hands on missing parts or pieces but don't really want to get too much money into replacing parts. Also - I only have 1 table, so I'd be selling one of these as just the head, and I'm not 100% folks wanna buy machines that way, so that would be another expense to purchase a table.

Ok - fixed it. I also just farted around with it and found that I had forgotten to tighten the screws behind the connecting rod. Seems to have fixed it 😳

Hi all - found this Adler 67 at the goodwill bins and thought I’d try to save her! Am I mistaken that this is a walking foot machine? If it is - can anyone see why these feet aren’t moving up and down? I’m sure I broke something but don’t know where to start. Thanks!

Hi all - I was able to pick up a Pfaff 145 head to refurbish. I would like to resell it and think it'd probably sell better with a table. I found someone selling a shell of a 1245, with a table. I think the machine has no moving parts in it, so I'm considering it for the table only. Does anyone know if there's any chance the 145 would fit in the 1245 table? Also - is there any value of a machine that's basically just the shell?

OK! I think that worked! I adjusted both the top and bottom tension, tightening both, and also found that either the bobbin or the way I wound it was intermittently refusing to move. I used a different bobbin and we seem to be in business! It does bunch periodically as I start off, but I'll keep fiddling with it. Thanks, all, for the advice!! Now on to the Adler 67 I also picked up to refurb!!

Thank you - I'll play with the tension. I do think I maybe loosened the bobbin tension way too much

Ok, here's the status of where we're at. All bound up! I've removed and cleaned EVERYTHING around the bobbin, the case, the needle and therefore it is a little outta whack. Any help is appreciated

ok, I found an amazing video that covers the installation. I see the pads are already in there - I see what you mean now and I'll try that. I hope this video helps someone! I'm close but oh boy is my thread bunched up. I'll start a new thread on timing...

oh dang. I don't think I have the brake pads on. My motor didn't come with any instructions. Anyone have a link?

I think I got most of the rust off! I am trying to sew for the first time and threading my needle. I'm having a REALLY hard time moving the hand wheel while it is connected to the servo motor. Is that normal? Should I be disconnecting it when I need to hand crank it? I have a CONSEW servo motor if that helps.

Ok - here it is fully restored with a new motor. On to thread next! Suggestions for leather?

Ok, here's progress! I've soaked a bunch of the parts to remove the rust, scrubbed off a lot of the surface rust and coated with Marvel oil. I oiled up the gears and cleaned/scrubbed some gunk out. Seems to be moving much more smoothly now! I still have to replace some of the parts as you'll see. Thanks for all the advice! Now... I want to replace the old clutch motor with a servo motor. Advice on that and the belt to run it? Oh, also - is there a way to get the big wheel on the right off? I'd like to remove it to give it a good clean since it is still pretty rusty. Thanks!

Hi new friends! I'm very new to leather working, sewing machine repair and this forum! I'm a huge fan of mechanical things but have little experience. I was able to get my hands on an old Pfaff 145 for $200 and am attempting a restoration. The first thing I noticed is that the decal is very gently applied and I'm nervous about washing the machine. Is this something I should care about? The machine is in kinda rough shape (cosmetically) and I'm not sure the best path forward to restoration. Is it important to not change anything about the machine and try to save as much as possible? or is it ok to repaint and cover up the imperfections to stop corrosion? Pics if they're helpful and thanks for the feedback!
