Members Steveg Posted February 9, 2008 Members Report Posted February 9, 2008 Well I guess its my turn to post. This is a binder cover I am making. Finished the background with Neetsfoots and used spirit dyes on the flower. The picture is lo res, all I have in the house is my Treo. Let me know what you think, I hope i can take it. Quote

Contributing Member ClayB Posted February 9, 2008 Contributing Member Report Posted February 9, 2008 That's one of my favorite rose patterns and you did a really nice job of it, carving and coloring. Quote
SCOUTER Posted February 9, 2008 Report Posted February 9, 2008 Steve, Great job shading the leaves! Wow! Quote
howardb Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 Is that an inverse carve? I've been trying to figure that out for a month. FANTASTIC! Tooling looks good, colors are very pretty. I love the way the leaf tips feather out to brown & yellow. Very nice! Brent Quote

I copied the pattern from the 'Inverted Leather Carving" by Al Stohlman that I purchased at a Tandy store. I really like the inverted carving for the things I do. I added a photo of the binder finished. I have been trying Peter Main techniques I learned in his class. It has been a challenge for me, but seeing him do it in person has helped a lot. This is my best color dye so far. Quote
