Members Harmonica19 Posted May 21, 2022 Members Report Posted May 21, 2022 Hi, I am going to attempt making a tooled eyeglass case and I want some opinions on what to line it with. My initial thought was to use pig skin/suede since that's soft. Now I'm thinking it may trap grit and dirt which can scratch the lenses. Alternatively, I could line it with veg tan, smooth side facing the glasses. That way there's no nap to trap grit. Or it could just be unlined, and will have the inside of the tooled veg tan against the lenses. I'm not sure there's an objectively correct answer, I just want the opinion of some experienced people. What do you think? Quote
Members rleather Posted May 21, 2022 Members Report Posted May 21, 2022 I have used deer without any issues. You should be able to use pig , grain side up, without it scratching. Quote
