Elton Joorisity Report post Posted October 25, 2007 I just bought some new bobbin cases for my Nakajima 280L on ebay. Great price, great shipping. BAD DEAL!!! I can't get the tension set. I am running a #23 needle with #69 thread in the bobbin and #138 top. Am I doing something wrong or did I just get dealt a raw deal??? greg gomersall Report post Posted October 26, 2007 Elton try putting your spring from your old case on the new one and also try using 92 or 99 size thread on the bottom as it won't be as big of size jump. Another thing I noticed is that these new cases are harder to get in the hook than the old one. It's not the bobbin tension I'm having trouble with, it's getting enough top tension. Art Report post Posted October 27, 2007 Hi Elton, Try backing off the bobbin tension a little. Whenever you can't get enough top to pull up the bobbin, the bobbin is too tight. Or try giving the top thread an extra wrap around the tension bar, two wraps should do, this also should give a tighter stitch also. Hope this helps you out. PS, I'm from Whitecourt Alberta....
