Members Brownies Posted February 13, 2023 Members Report Posted February 13, 2023 New to sewing machines. Need to know if the tippman boss is a worthwhile upgrade being that it's completely manual. I plan on using it for belts and holsters with 9 to 10 oz of leather. I know it'll give my poor fingers a rest from poking leather but my question is, for those that have or had one, is it worth it? I was looking at the model R with reverse.. or stick with the original or go with something else completely? Quote
Members Deryk Posted February 15, 2023 Members Report Posted February 15, 2023 I have a Tippman Boss, and (yesterday) just had delivered a Cobra class 26. I think for belts the boss does a great job. Now I was making bags and hats on mine and I had issues with the very limited throat room and I think you will experience that with making holsters. Reverse looks like a good improvement, I wonder if the cowboy outlaw will be doing something similar? I considered going up to an outlaw because the working area is larger. Then I said screw it decided most of my work is on 4 to 5 ounce weight so I went with the class 26. I still have my boss, and will probably keep it if I make a large duffle bag or something and the layers with strapping become too much for my 26. Quote
