Warren Report post Posted November 17, 2007 (edited) This is the latest holster that I've made. It is for my son. I talked about this one in the leather casing thread, where I soaked it and put in in a bag overnight. I had just been spraying or sponging my leather before this. I didn't like the way the tooling looked after I finished. It isn't sharp. The holster I'm working on now is going much better and I will post pictures of it as soon as it's finished. By the way the belt is store bought. I haven't gotten brave enough to try to make a gun or cartridge belt yet. johnny7 Report post Posted November 17, 2007 that is a fine looking holster. I am in the process of trying to make a holster myself. To all the pros out there how do you keep the tooling looking so good where you have to make the bend at? On mine it seems to want fade there. Again Warren fine looking holster and I agree with smokinp. You look ready for the belt to me. Johnny

OzarkMountainGunleather Report post Posted November 25, 2007 To Johnny and the others who had the question about the tooling around a bend Tool the patern you wish on the holster Make certian that the tooling is deep but consistent through out the entire holster Allow the holster to dry completly from water used in tooling Dye and Finish your holster with a wood finish I like Min Wax Spray on Polyurethane this will harden the surface of your holster but still keep it flexable and gives a really nice satin finish do not spray finish on the outside of the holster at this point bend your holster around the barrel of your gun sew it together after you have finished this dip it in warm water to allow for forming of holster You should at this point have a nicely tooled and formed holster Luke
