Hello! I placed the same thread in my industrial machine as I was using on my domestic machine and the stitches came out a lot darker, by quite a lot! Any suggestions on how to clean an industrial machine, where and what to use so the colour of the thread don't get tinted? Could this be because of oil? Or just dirt, perhaps between the tension discs?!

I would pull some top thread through from the spool by hand to see if I could determine at what guide or tension disc is giving the problem. It could be from over oiling or rust or just a build up of old crude from use. Then I would do the same thing with the bobbin thread. Once you figure out the location then you can concentrate on cleaning or replacing that part. If it is from the bobbin area and you are using Aluminum bobbins replace it with a steel bobbin as Aluminum can discolor thread if they are old or of poor construction.

I'd suggest giving the tension discs a good clean with a soft brush or lint-free cloth. Sometimes a tiny bit of dish soap helps too.

And yep, double-check the oiling spots. Maybe reduce the oil a tad if it's excessive.
