Setting spots with Craftmaster Hand Press

Recommended Posts

I have what appears to be a "Craftmaster" Hand Press like Springfield Leather sells. Item # 011-399001. I have the dies for setting spots but every time I set one it makes it pointed like a nipple instead of round. I cannot figure what I am doing wrong. I have tried adjusting it. If I back off the depth of stroke it won't set it so it will stay. Too much and it get the point on it. I have had this thing for several years and thought I would put it to work on some spot rivet's but not having much luck. Anyone with experience with one of these please advise.

I have looked on line for a manual but can't find one. I guess I will call SLC and see if they can copy one and send to me.

Thanks in advance.

I think I found the answer,

The dies I have are for normal spots with the prongs not the rivet type.... I works good with the prong spots.
