Hi, My name is Mike. Thanks for allowing me to join your forum. I have been dabbling with leather for a year or so now. Started out wanting to make a sheath for an old Ka-Bar knife I got from my Uncle.

Next was a guitar strap from a store bought, pre-dyed strap that turned pretty good. I have since nearly gone through one 7/8 and one 2/3 economy sides exploring different projects. When I began I no intentions of doing any carving or stamping but that didn't last long.

Lately I've been making some guitar and mandolin straps from veg tan. I started searching the ole webs for ways to line the interiors of my straps and good old google brought me here.

looking forward to hanging out and getting to know some of you!

Mike

Welcome from a fellow Alabamian. I go to the Hoover, AL Tandy store pretty regularly. Good guys in there who are really helpful, nice guys. If you live nearby or are in the area, you should stop in at some point.

I've been there several times. I work in Birmingham and run down there on my lunch break sometimes.
