Singer 111g 156 help please

Hiya, first post, 

I bought the above machine, slices through leather easy, topstitching beautiful.

I make vinyl/faux bags, and she just shreds the top off, now the feet are smooth, the foot pressure is on the lightest, but it's still doing it.

Any advice please?

Lower the feed dogs? And how?

Or is she such a beast of a machine she's to much for faux?
