Singer 45k1 and 78-1

Recommended Posts

Still new to the forum and leather. Also more looking to sew heavy canvas/webbing. So if not the right please to ask, let me know.

Besides my 'fairly new' Singer 7-10 and my 15k88 which has seen quite some work. I now have the option between a 78-1 and a 45k1 only have the funds an space for one.

Are they good for medium to heavy canvas work of do I have enough with my 15k88 and 7-10. I know no sewing machine is the same with al the different uses..

Depends on how heavy you want to sew. Maybe the 45K1 can replace the Singer 7-10 beast and the 78-1 I guess is a good replacement of the Tiny 15K. ;) Thats at least what I would choose.

Thanks its fun to learn anyway so maybe I change them both or just live with the fact I have no space and try them out first to see what works best for my needs :D

Picked up the 78-1 this morning. Few hours drive. According to the seller it was put away in working order. I already thought probably decades ago... Pictures where dark but the head looked quite clean.

When I arrived I was a bit disappointed about the table. It was in worse condition then claimed. Machine turns but though, years of dried gunk and dust by the looks of it. Luckily the cover had been over it al this time. I looks to have a knee Presser but no engine was surprised to see that. Knew it had no engine.

All in all not to bad for €80 I think. Again something that needs love and care. This time also a little more restauration.
