TrueGoon Report post Posted September 8, 2024 Can anyone identify what these two pieces of hardware are called? One is a pin that uses a lock to secure a collar/belt/strap. The other is a plate with two spikes and embeds into the leather. I am brand new to leatherwork. The pictures come from reddit user u/warm_vanilla_sugar. TomE Report post Posted September 8, 2024 The plate with spikes is a loop staple. Weaver sells them https://www.weaverleathersupply.com/products/15s4-loop-staples and Beiler's Manufacturing has smaller quantities. You can also sew the loop. Sewing and blocking a loop is a higher level of finish in my opinion.

I agree that sewing the loops will look better, I may try this. Thank you both for your help. Edited September 8, 2024 by TrueGoon
