TomSwede Report post Posted December 6, 2007 That's a fantastic looking seat and what a nice colour/tone. Looks black and red at the same time and matches the theme very good. Just love to look at those seats you and the guys put out. Gotta try itmyself. Tom
Guest Report post Posted December 6, 2007 (edited) Hey Roger, Looks great buddy, are those seat orders starting to come in again? I couldn't imagine that you would not get busy again and pretty quick too. The new one look great as always, Is it black or did you custom mix something for it? Tom thanks ken and tom! the seat is black and the "red" tooling is a combination of ox blood and mahogany. i use it quite a bit when i need a deep red

Dave Theobald thanks david! seat orders are still rather slow but i am pushing and begging along with letting guys know that i am not booked up so i am starting to get some work. i am close to investing in a sewing machine and am going to start producing some bags to take up the inbetween time. yes...that red is my custom mix of ox blood and mahogany
DJc Report post Posted December 6, 2007 very cool! a seat is on my list of things to do when my skills improve... how thick of padding do you guys use on average? do you put anything around the metal seat pan to prevent it from wearing a hole in the covering? does having a tooled seat effect the comfort at all? thanks! Art Report post Posted December 6, 2007 Hi DJc, Trim-Lok works pretty good. It's is a PCV product for just that purpose. Trimmer's supply places will have it or something similar. Sorry, Trimmers are automotive upholsterers. Art do you put anything around the metal seat pan to prevent it from wearing a hole in the covering?thanks! Guest Report post Posted December 6, 2007 I use 1/2" to 3/4" neoprene. There is no need to protect the leather from the edge of the seat pan. If you are asking if you can feel the tooling on the seat....no. At least my butt isn't that sensative. My seats have thinner padding because they are intended for "oldschool" style bikes with springs under the seat. Roger's have thicker padding because they are intended to be mounted directly on the frame usually on the "long bike" style of chopper. Dave

Guest Report post Posted December 7, 2007 Roger, I talked with Donny at Sucker Punch yesterday. He said things have been slow there too. Said it happens every year at this time. Then after Christmas things get crazy again. Same thing happens around tax time too. So keep hanging in there. Take care, Dave
Darrell Report post Posted December 7, 2007 This is a Beauty! I've always wanted to try my hand at M/C Saddles but still have never tackled it. Never had a compressor and pneumatic stapler-now I do. Just sod my scoot of the last 12 years, so I think I'll just go to the local shop and ask to get a shop loaner. I'll be picking your brain for sure. This is sweet!-Darrell
