Members bnsmith Posted October 13, 2024 Members Report Posted October 13, 2024 I just acquired a Singer 111G156 and was in the process of oiling the machine. Looking in the Bobbin well on the RHS I noticed a post that was not in the picture, nor in anything I have read so far. Poking and finally pulling revealed this Any ideas what it is? I still don't see the two oil points I need, felt below bobbin or on edge of bobbin regards Brian Quote
Members Constabulary Posted October 13, 2024 Members Report Posted October 13, 2024 (edited) Seems your 111G156 has a different hook saddle and hook. looks like the one I have in my Singer 212G141. Maybe the machine has been "upgraded" once. The hook runs in an oil bath and the stick is an oil dipstick Edited October 13, 2024 by Constabulary Quote
Members bnsmith Posted October 13, 2024 Author Members Report Posted October 13, 2024 Ah, that would explain not finding the felt. Does one fill to the end of the flat hashed section? Very hard to see this light oil ... is there a trick? Quote
Members Constabulary Posted October 13, 2024 Members Report Posted October 13, 2024 this is from a 211G156 manual: Quote
Members bnsmith Posted October 13, 2024 Author Members Report Posted October 13, 2024 Thanks so much! So one fills to see the line at the top of the dip stick? Odd system as the dip stick pushes oil out of way I suspect. I did see a thread on changing the hook saddle to a larger one, is that what I have? Not the G size (I think?) that is standard for 111g156? Quote
