Hey Rider,

Looking back, there were things I wish I hadn't done, things I wish I had done, things I wish I'd done better...but since it was my daughter's wedding present it had to be done. No, it wasn't a stepping stone. It was the best I could do with my talent and time. She doesn't see any of the stuff I see when she looks at it, so what I think really doesn't matter. When you have a wife an two daughters, not much that you think matters.

Do the best that you possibly can. Later ones will probably be better but at the time it's your best and that's all that matters. That's my two cents anyway...

I have my first saddle, ride it all the time. I plan on keeping it and never getting rid of it. Sometimes you have to look back at where you started to see where you are going...

I still have that first Bag Tag kit I made in grade school in 1972. I look at it and sometimes just to see how far I have come.

I rode my first saddle for over twenty years. It is strong and comfortable, but lacks a little finesse to my eye now. If it fit my mule I'd probably still be riding it, since I can't seem to find time to work on my OWN gear.
