Members Titus1971 Posted January 6 Members Report Posted January 6 Hello All! Newbie here- I have zero leatherworking knowledge but I do have a ton of leather gun holsters. I bought a crossbreed mini-tuck many years back and it fits like a glove. I bought a second recently for a new gun and the leather is much thicker rand therefore stiffer. The old/comfortable leather is .110 inches thick and the new one is .180 inches thick. Can I sand the backside down to take of .050 inches or would that hurt the structural integrity of the leather ( again no leatherworking experience so don't flame me ) Quote
CFM chuck123wapati Posted January 6 CFM Report Posted January 6 Don't sand it. You can use some neats foot oil to soften it a bit. That may help, but use it sparingly, or it will get too soft. Quote
