Needle Upsizing Adler 205

Does anyone know if distance rings need to be added in addition to the shuttle shim when going up in needle size on the 205? I thought I read a thread awhile back about it, but can't seem to find it now and I'm about to do the switch. If it matters, size 280(28) needles.
