Members Sal Posted 3 hours ago Members Report Posted 3 hours ago I have been asked to make a pair of western chaps using hair-on elk hide. He wants the elk on just the front of the chaps with chap leather on the back and inner leg of the chaps here the chaps will rub on the saddle. I can not find any info on using hair on-elk hide for making any kind of garments. I have spent hours looking, so any info I can get from this forum will be very much appreciated. Quote
CFM chuck123wapati Posted 3 hours ago CFM Report Posted 3 hours ago Elk hair won't take the abuse very well, but if he just wants them for show, they may last a while. The hair is hollow and brittle, unlike fur. They would look cool for a while though. Good luck!! Quote
