Members Mackan100 Posted February 8 Members Report Posted February 8 (edited) Hi there Maybe this question doesn't betong here at all? But anyway I am up with copying old fabric upholstery clothing and then I compared parts that have not being exposed for stretching with the backrest for example. (Counting dots in the pantern) It seems like the backrest cloth have been stretched out up to 2-3 inches. But the fabric isnt strethcy. Can this be real, shall I take that in count and shorten the new parts compared with the old ones (length of backrest) I will be using the same fabric only difference is that it is new. And the old one is 50 years. Best regards Marcus Edited February 8 by Mackan100 Quote
Members Beehive Posted February 8 Members Report Posted February 8 Cloth doesn't stretch like that. Maybe 5mm but not 2-3inches. Which doesn't matter. Make the new cloth fit like it's supposed to. Quote
Members AlZilla Posted February 9 Members Report Posted February 9 Some pictures might help. 2 inches over how many total inches? I don't think upholsters try to replicate directly from old pieces. Maybe stretch and distortion is why. Quote
