AKRob Report post Posted February 25, 2007 (In the interet of full discloser: I am not affilated with Joe, I did buy this CD from him as well as my first Boss. But not shilling for him, I do stand to gain anything by this.) Joe's CDROM Book Artisans and Money is very instructive for folks trying to strike out on their own. One thing that really struct home with me was how one goes about marketing their goods: Don't act like a store is doing you a big favor by offering to sell your hard built goods on consignment.Either your stuff is worth paying for, or it's not. Verticle integration is the way to go (Cuts out the middle man) sell direct to your customers by directing them to your website, or store. If you do this successfully reatilers will come to you, and you can set the terms-minimum dollar amounts for initial and subsequint orders etc. http://www.thingswestern.com/artisans.htm This has really helped me, I hope it can help you folks out too.
