Once again, a very nicely done video. It would have been nice to see what files could be imported directly to the lasers software like .step files or if certain formats need to be converted before being imported.Ā I think if you want to reduce / eliminateĀ those fumes that are now leaking into the room from the machine I would suggest: i) enclosed the unit in a secondary enclosure. ii) install a couple of 120mm computer fans to exhaust the fumes to a 19 litre (5 US gal) plastic bucket with a carbon filter on the buckets exhaust. kgg Quote Juki DNU - 1541S, Juki DU - 1181N, Singer 29K - 71(1949), Chinese Patcher (Tinkers Delight), Warlock TSC-441, Techsew 2750 Pro, Consew DCS-S4 Skiver

Putting the camera inside the laser engraver was actually fun š About the file formats ā I make my patterns in two versions: for laser engravers and for cutting machines ā SVG and DXF. But I asked ChatGPT, and hereās what it replied. For anyone interested: the xTool Creative Space app supports direct import of SVG, DXF, PNG, JPG/JPEG, and BMP files. However, formats like .step or other 3D files need to be converted first (for example, into SVG or DXF). Regarding the smell ā thank you for mentioning that. It doesnāt bother me much since my laser engraver is in a separate room with a door that opens directly outside, so itās easy to air out. I talked about this in the video because I donāt really like how in the promotional videos they say thereās no smell at all since the machine is āfully enclosed.ā Thatās not true. There is a smell, especially when engraving leather. And about connecting a hose and sticking it out the window ā that always makes me laugh. The smoke will just come right back in through the same window. Not the most honest marketing in my opinion ā people should know this before buying. Quote
Members Olena TS Posted 20 hours ago Author Members Report Posted 20 hours ago Regarding the smell ā itās also important to note that burnt leather residue stays on the grid itself. Thatās actually what causes the unpleasant odor even after the job is done, when thereās no visible smoke inside. The smoke does get vented out, but you canāt really clean the grid every single day ā well, at least Iām too lazy to do that š . Compared to materials like paper, cardboard, or plywood, leather definitely has a much stronger smell. I guess to avoid that burnt-leather scent completely, youād need a powerful COā laser š Quote

You gotta be careful with all adverts as they typically lie like a cheap rug's. 22 minutes ago, Olena TS said: For anyone interested: the xTool Creative Space app supports direct import of SVG, DXF, PNG, JPG/JPEG, and BMP files. I mention .step file format as that is what I use in Fusion 360 as it can be ported easily to other programs. kgg Edited 20 hours ago by kgg Quote Juki DNU - 1541S, Juki DU - 1181N, Singer 29K - 71(1949), Chinese Patcher (Tinkers Delight), Warlock TSC-441, Techsew 2750 Pro, Consew DCS-S4 Skiver
