Members MarlinDave Posted Wednesday at 10:56 PM Members Report Posted Wednesday at 10:56 PM I replaced the thread tensioner on my Consew 225. Now the mechanism that releases the tension when the presser foot is up does not have enough travel to work. Do I need to bend the 3 cornered plate in behind, put in a longer rod through the machine, or is there an adjustment? No mention in the Navy manual. Quote
Contributing Member friquant Posted Thursday at 01:07 AM Contributing Member Report Posted Thursday at 01:07 AM I'm not familiar with the tension release on the Consew 225 specifically. Feel free to post pictures of the thread tensioner and the cavity in the machine head where it sits. On the Juki DDL-8700 clone I worked on, the tension release was adjustable by how far into the machine you inserted the whole tensioner before you tightened the lock screw. Quote friquant. Contributing Member friquant Posted 18 hours ago Contributing Member Report Posted 18 hours ago I can't always tell which parts on sewing machines can be bent. I've guessed wrong a couple times 💔 Quote friquant. Like a frequent, piquant flyer. Check out my blog: Choosing a Motor for your Industrial Sewing Machine
Members Constabulary Posted 16 hours ago Members Report Posted 16 hours ago Try the "tension release disc" from the old tensioner (the one with he small bar across the center hole) - just a guess.
