Members metalandpatch Posted February 23 Members Report Posted February 23 Does anyone have any experience with replacement bell cranks from eBay made in China? TIA Gene Quote
AlZilla Posted February 23 Report Posted February 23 @metalandpatch I split you out into a new topic. Hopefully you'll get some good feedback. Mine is that I did one on a 29K3 a few years back. In my case, the exact part is no longer to be found so I had to modify one for a later machine. Other than that, it was uneventful and worked as expected. Ordered part #82167. Today I received the new bell crank lever part number 82167. The part looks like a quality part, however the taped holes seem to have metric threads. The original screws fit, but just don't feel right. So what I wound up doing was getting my local welder to tig weld a bead on both sides of my original bell crank lever tip. I took it home and filed and fit it to my motion ring groove. The machine runs a lot quieter with no slop. While I was in there I installed the missing needle bar spring. Tomorrow I'll thread it up and see if my stitch length was restored. Gene Quote
