I saved the pictures for later project design ideas. When I went back, I couldn't find the link or site. I remember something usual in the title bar (top left corner), question marks. Normally, you would see the name of the site or something similiar, but not here. Oh well, I thought with all of the masters here, someone would be able to chime it.

I appreciate your response.

When I read the title of the post, I thought it was going to be some weird fish head recipe from Finland

Are you looking for a way to get that darkened effect in all the tooling while leaving the rest of the leather almost natural?

Take some neatsfoot oil and add a bit of Eco Flo medium brown (or dark brown, depending how you'd like it to look) Gel Antique. Sorry I don't have exact measurements on this one, it's more a trial and error til you get the shade you like. Shake it up well, and apply in circular motions with some wool scrap. Buff it in with a clean piece of wool, let the oil soak in and you'll get a very similar finish.

Of course, try it on some scrap projects to see how you like it.

Hope that works for you.

I new that it would something as simple as you mentioned it. I think these picture depict the beauty of natural leather with the contrast of the tooling part. My .02 cents.

Thanks for the help, I will it a shot and report back.
