King's X Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 (edited) My friend has this in his leaving room. You think he would mind if I just cut one antler off for a tool handle or burnishing stick? Members wildrose Posted January 19, 2009 Members Report Posted January 19, 2009 LOL! Think he might miss it! Honestly though, I have an antler tip glued onto what looks like the ball end of a pool cue, and I got it at a show from Roz Kaohn (the Dragon Lady). Works great. Members gloomis Posted January 20, 2009 Members Report Posted January 20, 2009 Here is one made about 45 years ago when there were more moose than money. It has a two groove creaser and a edge slicker with a porcelain doorknob for saddle seats Quote Sure, I dont like a porcupine in my tent to wake me up at night. His social graces wasn't gotten from Emily Post. Contributing Member ClayB Posted January 20, 2009 Contributing Member Report Posted January 20, 2009 Kinda funny the timing on this topic. I got a package in the mail last week from Clay Miller and in it were 3 tools he had made out of an antler. One is an embosser with a groove in the side for burnishing edges. The other two are bone folders. I got a chance to try them out for a few minutes yesterday and they work great! I dont think it'd be a good idea to steal a piece off your buddy's deer mount on the wall though. Quote ClayB Badlands Leather Art blog Badlands Leather Art Website
