Members JRB Posted January 28, 2009 Members Report Posted January 28, 2009 What is your preferred method of preparing the leather to apply dye (products to clean, prep the leather, etc.)? Quote ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ
Contributing Member TwinOaks Posted January 29, 2009 Contributing Member Report Posted January 29, 2009 A quick wipedown with either deglazer, or high % isopropyl alcohol. Let dry, then apply dye/finish. WARNING: USE ALCOHOL/DEGLAZER ONLY IN AREAS WITH ADEQUATE VENTILATION. Just like it says on the bottle. Also I suggest using an exam glove to keep the stuff off your hands. My personal preference is the purple nitrile gloves, also used when dyeing.
