Members rickeyfro Posted February 8, 2009 Members Report Posted February 8, 2009 Just wanted to show a couple of seats I finished up this weekend Quote
Scary Leatherworks Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 Nice seats. What did you use for red on the "memory" seat Scott Quote
Members rickeyfro Posted February 8, 2009 Author Members Report Posted February 8, 2009 Thanks Scott That was cordovan Dye, dont know why it came out as red as it did. Quote
Scary Leatherworks Posted February 8, 2009 Report Posted February 8, 2009 I've got Fiebings cordovan dye but it's near brown. Did you mean the pic came out red or the dye? I am still looking for a nice deep red dye. tried oxblood and red. both are too pink. Sorry don't mean to high jack your seat post. Is that skull a "day of the dead" inspired skull? Quote
Members TinyL Posted February 9, 2009 Members Report Posted February 9, 2009 I love the paisley detail on the skull. It's really cool. Quote
Members TroyS Posted February 9, 2009 Members Report Posted February 9, 2009 Nice seats! Keep up the great work! Quote

Have you tried adding a dash of brown to deepen the red? Mahogany might do it. Or maybe a drop of blue. Just a very little bit, though, or you'll end up with purple. Quote
Members rickeyfro Posted February 9, 2009 Author Members Report Posted February 9, 2009 Hey Scott. come to think of it Tashabears right, I did spray this seat with light brown and then immediately after sprayed it with the cordovan, the seat is actually pretty close to what the picture is showing, dont really know why it came out so red, Ive used cordovan before and it wasnt nearly as red. And yes on the skull, its actually called a Sugar Skull. but it is from the day of the dead Quote
