Arturo Report post Posted February 9, 2009 Ya'll: Wil English Bridle leather wet form like tooling leather? Arturo
oldtimer Report post Posted February 9, 2009 (edited) English bridle leather is stuffed full of different kinds of grease and oils and is very resistant to water in comparison to tooling leather. By that reason you can´t wet form it like tooling leather. That´s my experience. / Knut Edited February 9, 2009 by oldtimer
Arturo Report post Posted February 9, 2009 Oldtimer: Thanks for the reply. I figured that to be the case but was not sure since it is vegtable tanned. Art
gary Report post Posted February 10, 2009 Art, It can be done. It takes a while to get it wet and then it needs to be left to case (I use a plastic bag). I've moulded pouches from it and it can take some time to get the shape. Also, it has a tendency to affect the colour, particularly if you don't wet all of it. Try it on a few scraps and you'll feel/see the difference. Gary
