Members Krithil Posted March 29, 2009 Author Members Report Posted March 29, 2009 (edited) Capel: "Entry Requirements Normal entry requirements are BTEC First Diploma or 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent) or other qualifications of an equivalent standard or relevant experience plus Accreditation of Prior Learning and Experience." The Saddlery Training Centre: "Who can apply? The New Entrants Training Scheme is primarily designed for apprentices, aged normally between 16 and 25, employed in firms in a rural area of England with a population of less than 10,000. Applicants from other areas may be accepted if places are available." Both of them reguires previous experience, am I right? They won't take beginners? If I go there, will I learn only saddle making? There is not much information on web pages. Do you know any schools in the USA? (Trotting harness, english saddles, not only western saddles.) Edited March 29, 2009 by Krithil Quote
Members Veera Posted January 9, 2015 Members Report Posted January 9, 2015 I know this is a old topic but I have now the same broblem as krithil had five years ago. I'm 17 years old girl from finland and I would like to become a saddle maker. I don't speak swedish so Tärnsjö isn't an option and I can't go to Ypäjä equine college either. UK could be a good place for me. I don't have any experience in saddle or harness making, but I do a lot of sewing and things like that. Do you know any good places to study saddle making? (Sorry for the bad English) Quote
