Members entiendo Posted March 14, 2009 Members Report Posted March 14, 2009 So I didn't aim quite as high as a full size quirt but I wanted to show you all that I was finally able to braid that 12 plait with success. Thank you so much for all your help! Quote
Members Windy Posted March 14, 2009 Members Report Posted March 14, 2009 And what a fine job. Looks real nice. WINDY Quote To all those who think ..........................
Members Hedge Posted March 14, 2009 Members Report Posted March 14, 2009 Really nice job! I like your design, as well. The only critique I have is your end knot. 'tis a bit uneven. But, hey, first cut at 12 plait and you did admirably. Quote
Members millwright Posted March 14, 2009 Members Report Posted March 14, 2009 That's pretty slick man. It's good to see again that it can be done. I'm takin' a butt kickin' on trying to braid 16 plait hobbles with nylon cord! Keep it up and share any tips you picked up with us that are still struggling! Quote
Members entiendo Posted March 14, 2009 Author Members Report Posted March 14, 2009 Sure millwright, but I'm not ready for 16 yet! The trick on the 12 plait for me was going under the first 2, rather than over. Then my strings could stay a bit more forward if that makes sense. I'm not sure if that's a possibility for 16. Which end button is crooked, perhaps I can reshape it? I want to do things as best I can ya know and I love it when I get suggestions to make things better. Quote

Too late to adjust it. Best done when the knot is being tightened. No worries, though. The whole thing looks really fine. Quote

But thank you, I'm quite fond of the design. I really like quirts. Quote
Members megabit Posted March 15, 2009 Members Report Posted March 15, 2009 gosh, I wish I knew what that meant. But thank you, I'm quite fond of the design. I really like quirts. He is talking about the end by the popper vs the end by the ring. The long pineapple the Vs are not in perfect alignment, I wouldn't have notice if Hedge hadn't pointed it out and I looked close. If you just want you ego stroked, looks great man! If you are looking to move to perfection the one knot is a tad uneven. Quote
Members entiendo Posted March 15, 2009 Author Members Report Posted March 15, 2009 smart a**...LOL....I'm going to have to get a closer look at that knot. I knew what knot he meant but I can't see what Hedge is seeing, and I want to see it! Quote
