Double U Leather

New old sewing machine

Recommended Posts

Hey all.......I think I just scored a big one. I bought a Singer 45K25 for $250. I went to check it out, and it seems like it sews fine. I can't wait to get it home and start playing with my new toy. I'll post some pics when I get it home.

welcome to the 45k25 owner's club, if you find a good source of needles let me know and good luck.

Did you get a " complete manual "with it , not the flimsy few pages?

Take care

Hi,

Does your 45K25 still have it's original 'Roller Presser' or has it been converted to a standard 'Flat' presser, as so many have?

Patric,

David Flint keeps large stocks of 45K needles, you will find him at:

Flint Industrials,

Oak Farm,

New Hall Lane,

Bronington,

Whitchurch,

Shropshire

SY13 3HE

UK

Email: david@flintindustrial.com

His UK phone number is: 01948 780593

However, he is usually very difficult to get hold of by phone, and none too good at answering emails, so, you may find it easier to write.

Patric..........no manuals at all with it, however the guy did have an envelope with probably a dozen or so needles.....

Steve........yes it has the original roller foot. I would probably rather have a flat foot, but have no idea where to find one. Any insight there would be helpful.

Leatherrookie, there are several clones of the 45K25 available in North America. The feet for these might fit your machine. Try Ferdco, Neels Saddlery or Raphael Sewing, there's a foot on the Raphael Sewing website for $15.

Patrick, you could try College sewing machine parts for needles. They're listed on the website and you can buy online. The various point styles are listed under 214x2 and 328. It's a very good shop, and they've always answered my emails quickly.

Yes, I would second that on both counts. The only advantage with David Flint, apart from price, is that he does keep genuine Singer 45K needles.

The best way to get things from David Flint is to email Joanna, his wife. She will get stuff out to you and takes Paypal payments. Email her with your order and she'll send a Paypal invoice.

joanna@flintindustrial.com

David just won't get back to you.

Cheers,

Karl
