How do I hand stitch?

I'm new to this. I want to make a take-down case for my o/u shotgun. What kind of tools do I use, and how do I go about doing it? I'm not looking for anything very ornamental, just basic.

See if you can Find Al Stolmans book on making cases it will give you a good tutorial onthe basics of that work!
