Members tonyc1 Posted April 4, 2009 Members Report Posted April 4, 2009 One of my horse training customers lost 3 horses due to lightning strike yesterday. It rattled our place which is about a mile from his as the crow flys. Tony. Quote
Members TrooperChuck Posted April 4, 2009 Members Report Posted April 4, 2009 That's horrible! I really feel for your friend. My horses are very special to me and if I lost even one, much less three, so unexpectedly I would be deeply hurt. Quote "Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway." (John Wayne)
HorsehairBraider Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 Yikes, how awful! Usually when a customer tells me how a horse died, it was colic (the number cause of death in horses) but I have had customers whose horse died of lightning strike... Lightning is pretty common here, I worry about it all summer. My condolences to your neighbors. Quote They say princes learn no art truly, but the art of horsemanship. The reason is, the brave beast is no flatterer. He will throw a prince as soon as his groom. - Ben Jonson http://www.beautiful-horses.com
