MADMAX22 Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 Hey all heres a little vine action. Did this for a guy at work. Wickett and craig seems to really respond well to the vine. I put it in and let it soak till it wasnt bubbling anymore (about 4min) then gave it a bakingsoda and water bath. Oiled with neatsfoot a couple of times, tancoat on the back to slick and seal. Atomwax on the front, then a good coat of snoseal. The tooling looked better before I dyed it but I forgot to get any pics. Black seems to make the worst stand out lol. This is my first carving that I have dyed black so it was definatly a little different. Anyways Quote
Contributing Member rdb Posted April 16, 2009 Contributing Member Report Posted April 16, 2009 Looks real good to me. I love my vinegaroon, wouldn't do black without it. That carving stands out better than most black dyed I've seen. A lot has to do with theWC leather too, the deep impressions you can get, stand out better Quote
