papajoe Report post Posted April 30, 2009 I HAVE BEEN DOING LEATHERWORK OFF AND ON FOR ABOUT 55 YEARS. I WAS A SCOUTMASTER AND LEATHERWORK MERIT BADGE COUNSELOR. I HAVE NOT BEEN VERY ACTIVE FOR ABOUT FIVE YEARS BECAUSE I HAVE MANY DIFFERENT HOBBIES. WOOD WORKING, MINIATURE SHIP BUILDING AND PHOTOGRAPHY. A FRIEND WAS TALKING ABOUT SOME LEATHER HANDLES FOR A TRUNK SHE WAS RESTORING AND I TOLD HER I MIGHT BE ABLE TO MAKE NEW ONES. I DID NOT HAVE A LEATHER SEWING MACHINE THAT WOULD SEW 1/4" SO I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR SOMEONE IN THE SOUTHEAST GA AREA WHO COULD HELP ME. MY OTHER OPTION IS TO BUY A MACHINE FOR $1000.00. I FOUND THIS SITE AND AM LOOKING FORWARD TO SHARING IDEAS AND IMPROVING MY LAPSED SKILLS.
Mike Craw Report post Posted April 30, 2009 Hey papajoe! You didn't say where in Southeast Georgia, but I happen to know of a little saddle shop in Kingsland that can probably help you out! Carlos and I may not be all that good, but we'll try just about anything... Welcome to leatherworker.net. Mike
