Kahr T9 holster maker or mold maker?

Recommended Posts

I have a new Kahr T9 and I am having a hard time finding IWB quality leather for it.

I would be happy to buy the mold and work a deal with one of the fine craftsmen on this board, if I could find it.

Does anyone here make a holster for the 4" Kahrs or know where I can find a dummy of one?

Thanks, I just found this forum and it is loaded with great info.

Mike

I just checked a listing for Rings Blue Guns and did not see any listings for the Kahr Arms guns at all... That doesn't mean that its not made, but you might have to contact Rings directly.

Mike: Your T9 Kahr is brand new on the market. It could be several months, perhaps a year before we see dummy guns available to make holsters for it. I am receiving orders for the T9 and I'm now making IWB and OWB holsters, utilizing K&P 9/40 forming pieces, extending the length, and forming accordingly using the barrel/slide group extended through an open holster bottom. So, closed-bottom holsters are not an option at this point, but I can acommodate some needs now pending availability of T9 forming pieces.

Actually, demand seems to be pretty hot at present, so I may just buy a T9 pistol to add to my collection!

Send a PM if you would like to see examples of my work.

Yes the T9 has been around for 5 years give or take. The TP9 is newer and it also has a 4" barrel. I thyink a dummy of one would work for the other? Is that true for an MK9 and PM9? There are a # of sites that specifically say we make holster for all Kahrs except the T and/or TP series. I am surprised that the T9 is not more popular. I think it is all a matter of perception, Sig comes out with the p239 and people marvel at its small size. Kahr comes out with the T9 and people wonder why they made such a HUGE pistol when in reality the Kahr is smaller than the Sig in every dimension and virtually identical in weight. Folks still consider the 3913, and P7, compact pistols and they are both pretty much the ame size as the T9 which gets a "target" gun designation? I guess you should always start big and then go small and not the other way around?

Thanks guys.

As soon as you get holster please post up some pics....

I have the K9 E9 and CW9.... K9 gets most of the love. One of these days I'll pick up a T9 (and an MK 9 too!!!)

Please forgive me for even mentioning kydex, but for what it is worth - while waiting for a decent leather holster to come in I would have no qualms at all about carrying a T9 in my Fist K9/K40 ultrathin kydex holster..... it has an open nose and the slide would extend down below the holster. Nowhere near as nice as leather, but it is paper thin and not terribly expensive.

Oh - regarding Kahr 9mm mags - a lot of people complain about the 9mm mags dumping the top rounds when you pocket carry them. Some carry their mags in leatherman pouches. Me? I made a double mag pouch / wallet carrier. Helps to have the bottom formed to fit the nose of the kahr mag to keep rounds from dislodging. This doesn't seem to be a problem at all with the 40 or 45 mags, just the 9mm ones. Ive got a pic of my mag carrier somewhere, Ill see if I can find it.
