HELP! Stitch Problem

I need to pick a brain or two.

Today, for some reason the Adler 205 decided to leave the bottom side stitch like the photo below.....Ideas? I have changed NOTHING on the machine and this started. Something to look for?

207/207, Black, 2 layers of 10OZ (does it on single and triple layers too).

Any advice is welcome.

Hi Andy. I have a 205 and the only time I've had a problem similar to this is when a bit of crap got under the thread tension plate that is on the bobbin case. I now pull the plate off every couple of months and give it a clean and seems to be ok.

Let me check that out...I did a quick inspection (popped the shuttle out, wiped it all down etc) I'll do a thorough cleaning in the morning!

Andy, I've had a 205 a long time and I've had similiar stuff happen just go through everything top and bottom and make sure everything is in place, I've had a loose piece of thread get wound up in the shuttle somewhere and cause problems , if your bobbin case gets wore or your tension spring on your bobbin it can free spool and do something similiar, make sure it's clean ,make sure your bobbins in right and not spooling off the wrong direction, ( I've done that ) and pull some thread through it and make sure the tension feels right and pull more than a few inches through it to make sure it stays consistant. Check everything top side and make sure it's wound correctly I've had it slip out of a tension on top and it won't pull your stitch up in it will just pull slack off your spool and not pull the stitch up in, every time something like this has happened to mine it's been something like one of these things I've never had a real problem with mine and it's getting old, they're a great machine it's probably something minor.

Other times it would be because I wasn't holding the ends tight enough at the start, and the top thread would get down and loop around the hook and then not pull up tight. This usually happened more often when I started off in reverse. I had it happen also if the top tension came loose for some reason. The first few times this happened I was a machine neophyte. The service guy told me to check the bobbin case for something sticking out or catching the catching the top thread and not allowing it to be pulled up all the way. He advised applying a drop of oil the the case and wiping it around with my finger before sewing everyday. Other times the hook would spear the thread and it wouldn't pull up. All that other space and that hook point decides to dead center a thread.
